Obituary

Albert Evans Gyure, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 14, 2021.  Graduate of Holy Rosary High School in Columbus.  He worked several years in drywall but is most known for his many years bartending at the Whitehall VFW. He made many lifelong friends over the years and worked beside his beloved wife every weekend. He reluctantly retired at 80 years old. He was a dedicated husband and father and enjoyed his casino trips and playing slots with his devoted wife of 46 years.  They were the true meaning of commitment. He will be missed by many and remembered for a unique sense of humor and contagious laugh. He had 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren that he loved with all his heart.  He was a devoted Catholic and true survivor, an optimist that would literally give you the shirt off his back.  Survived by his children, Kirk (Thom) Cramer, Kathy Cramer, Larry Cramer, Shawn (Brian) Gyure and sisters Kate Leach and Debbie (Dave) Edgar. He is preceded in death by both parents, his loving wife Norma Jean Gyure, an amazing sister, and his brother-in-law.  Friends may call Thursday 4-8 pm, EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday with Father William Arnold officiating followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
