Alex Craig Dobry, lifetime resident of the eastside of Columbus, graduate of Walnut Ridge High School and student of dentistry at OSU, passed away on April 7 at age 69. Alex was born on March 21,1954.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Alexander Dobry; his mom, Carol Dobry; and his sister, Leila (Dobry) Zaffini. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Charles Zaffini and six nieces and nephews.

Alex is also survived by several long term, loyal neighborhood friends who loved and admired him as the following letter attests:
"Alex has been a part of our life for so many years. The roots grow deep since childhood and we grew up together as kids. We have so many happy memories of our time together. He was like a brother to us, just like family. Alex, know you are loved deeply and greatly missed. And we will never forget you. Rest in peace until we meet again,
James Arthur, Rick Arthur, Sherry Macioce, Debbie Gunderson."

Alex's vocational career consisted in several institutions and fields including medicine, computer technology, and warehouse labor and inventory. He had a great gift for photography and considerable interest in cinematography. An avid reader, he was an excellent conversationalist on nearly anything of interest, conveying his ideas with sincerity not to mention a measure of warmth and often a smile.

But perhaps his greatest contribution to our common life was the care and concern he afforded to his widowed mother, Carol, for forty years.

Alex's remains will be buried alongside those of his father in Union Cemetery in Columbus.

As his family and friends, we commend his spirit to the mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the true and faithful hope of us all and the entire world.
