Arthur Greenwood, age 84, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of his family in Blacklick, Ohio. He was born on April 27, 1941, in Bellaire, Ohio.
Arthur will be remembered for his mild, gentle, and loving demeanor, his unwavering positivity, and his selfless heart. He truly believed that every day was a beautiful day and often reminded those around him that "it's a good life." His happiness was genuine and contagious, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A 1959 graduate of St. John Central High School in Bellaire, Arthur proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 8 years, including service during the Vietnam War. He took great pride in his role as a K9 handler and military police officer. Following his military service, Arthur was a dedicated and hardworking provider for his family. He spent 36 years employed as a machinist at Ebco Manufacturing Company/Oasis Corporation before retiring.
Arthur found joy in giving back to his community, volunteering his time as a firefighter. Above all else, he was a loving and devoted father whose kindness and steady presence will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his five children: Reta Grimm White, Clete (Amy) Greenwood, Marilyn Greenwood, Nina Greenwood, and Rose (Kevin) Perry; his grandchildren, Bailey, Clete Jr., Bonnie, Loie, Blaine, Chelsea, Corrinne, Eliana, Quinn, Kyla, and Arthur III; and his great-grandchildren, Owen and Maci, Luca and Kai, and Azyla. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Greenwood Delbrugge of Wheeling, West Virginia; his brother, Wayne Greenwood (Kitty) of Franklin Park, Illinois; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, all of whom speak fondly of his kindness and gentle spirit.
Arthur was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 50 years, Lovell Greenwood; his son, Arthur Greenwood II; his parents, Howard and Bertha Walker Greenwood; and his ten brothers and sisters.
His life was a testament to love, service, and gratitude, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43227, www.evansfuneralhome.net (http://www.evansfuneralhome.net/). Visitation from 11am-1pm on Friday, February 13, 2026, with a service at 1pm with Father Greg Evers officiating. Following the service, Arthur will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 5600 E. Broad St, Columbus, Ohio 43213.
