January 22, 1971 - January 25, 2024

Audrea Lynnette "Lynn" Blevins, 53, unexpectedly passed away on January 25, 2024. Lynn was born in Columbus, Ohio on January 22, 1971, to Dreama (Meador Blevins) Moon and Robert Calloway. Although her life was shorter than we would have wanted, she was a beautiful, vibrant and kind woman who gave of herself to her friends and loved ones around the world. She graduated from Putnam City North High School and studied Marketing at Oklahoma State University. For many years she worked for Nationwide Insurance and Huntington National Bank in Columbus, Ohio until her loss of eyesight prevented employment.

Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved baby, Pryncess. Lynnette loved her so much, usually dressing her in the cutest of outfits, and taking her everywhere she went until she was no longer able to care for her. Pryncess loved her mommy and missed her when she was away. Pryncess passed at the age of 21 in the loving care of Lynnette's grandmother, Betty Dowler. Lynnette was also preceded in death by her brother, Michael Sean Lake, who also died unexpectedly in 2018.

As Lynnette's eyesight began to fail and she became legally blind, the challenges of living alone and learning to navigate the world in a new way were tremendous. Fiercely independent, Lynn refused to give in to despair and created a new life for herself sans sight. Her family and friends were amazed by her strength, determination, and upbeat spirit. Her bravery was a valuable  life lesson for all who knew her.

Lynnette had many friends around the world in Europe and Africa, many of whom she met while engaged in charitable work in Gambia, Africa with children in need. She visited Gambia annually to do this work, and even after she lost her eyesight, she continued her philanthropic work making several more trips to Gambia. She loved The Gambia, its people and culture tremendously, and felt passionately about helping its people especially children. She enjoyed scrapbooking as a way of documenting her travels, the people and places that she loved.

She is survived by many who loved her: her mother, Dreama Moon; her grandmother Betty Dowler; Herbie Meador and Phyllis Meador (uncle and aunt); Linda Dempsey (aunt); many cousins including Herbert Meador III, Tonya Dempsey, Steve Webb, Tammy Webb, Ethyn Meador, Alleyah Meador) sister friends Libby Moon and god-daughter Amber, and Connie Adams Sylvester; her Ohio family (Cynthia Mahoney, Toshia, Shawnda, TJ, Chris, Erica, Kamryn, Candy, Carol Vaughn, and Peggi Crosier); family friend Valerie Callanan and many wonderful friends from around the world. A special acknowledgement and sincere gratitude to Ibrahim Lamin, her longtime nurse and friend, and her caregivers Treda Philips and Lamon Forte, all of whom helped make her life easier as her health deteriorated. In addition, we are grateful to Village Connection of German Village who supported her, provided her companionship, and transportation.

She was devoted to God and open to a variety of religious beliefs. She was a member of Life Changing Empowerment Ministries and her pastors, Mary E. Lyles and Ronald W. Lyles devoted many hours counseling her about life decisions and building her personal relationship with God.

A private viewing will be held at Evans Funeral Home on Wednesday January 31, 2024. Please do not send flowers as she would want to be remembered via donations to children in Gambia.  A Celebration of Life is being planned for summer 2024.
