Barbara Sue Ring (Dodson), 81, of Hilliard, OH, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, preceded in death by her beloved fiancé, James (Jim) Hahn, her parents, Walter and Voletta Dodson as well as her siblings Vinetta Hester, Karen Cantrell, Barney Dodson, and Russell Dodson.

Barbara was born on May 29, 1944, in Columbus, OH. She attended South High School. She continued her education at Columbus Paraprofessional Institute where she obtained a technical degree in Office Administration. She also obtained a real estate license. Barbara was a property manager for 20 plus years.

Barbara was a beaming light in every room. She maintained many friendships along the way. Barbara was known for her love in the church community (Methodist), her love for the Cleveland Browns, horses, and Mickey Mouse, welcoming smile, dark sense of humor, and contagious laugh. She was calm and poise. Barbara loved watching scary and old country western movies, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She especially enjoying having her grandchildren spend the weekend with her while she spoiled them with pizza, smores, brownies, popcorn, and letting them pick out a pound each of whatever candy they wanted. Some of her favorite places to frequent were Starbucks, Bob Evans, and local thrift shops.

She was an adored daughter, mother, nana, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her presence will be terribly missed. Caring sister to Walter Allen (Aleta) Dodson, sister-in-law, Kathryn (Kay) Dodson. Loving mother to Kathryn S. (Michael) Murrey, Michele R. (Jake) Blevins, Barbara R. (Daniel Klauseman) Oyler. Known as Nana to 6 grandchildren (and their significant others/spouses) and Great-Nana (OG Nana) to 7 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Monday June 1, 2026, from 11AM- 12 NOON at Evans Funeral Home. 4171 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus OH 43227, where her funeral services will be held at 12 NOON with Pastor P.K. Fowler officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
