Benjamin Hamlet, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022, surrounded by the love of his family and friends on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Ohio State Medical Center. Preceded in death by wife, Geneva Hamlet; daughter Rose Marie Granderson; parents, Charlie and Beulah Hamlet. Survived by daughter, Bertha Hamlet; sons, Darnel Hamlet (Michelle Cooper) and James Mitchell Jr. daughter - in - law Lisa Hamlet; grandchildren, Danielle Latham, Dareyl Hamlet, Daylin Hamlet, Tiaira Wilson, Tyron Woods, Amy Daugherty, Michaela Cooper, Jasmine Nathan, Merrina Mitchell, James Mitchell II, James Lucas, Jamie Lucas, Jamal Lucas, Shawnte Mitchell, Justin McCoy, Jacob McCoy, Wuan Mitchell, Peter Mitchell, Keisha Simpson, Quintella Myers, James Grandison, Richard Grandison and Cassandra Grandison; many great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members.

Benjamin served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958, followed by a career at Xerox for 29 years. He retired for the final time from Ohio State University after 26 years. Benjamin was an extremely hard worker and was loved dearly by his family of coworkers at Ohio State. Benjamin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed Jazz / Blues music, watching western cowboy movies and watching baseball and football (cheering for Ohio State).

Funeral service Saturday August 20th at 10:30am location Evans Funeral Home 4171 E. Livingston Ave. We will proceed after to Forest Lawn Cemetery 5600 E Broad St.
