Benson Michael Brumfield Sr. of Fitzgerald Georgia, Passed away at home peacefully on Aug 14th, 2026, after complications from a stroke. He was 82 years old.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Lucille Lester Brumfield (Fraley). His Father Willie Paul Brumfield and Brother Kermitt Marshall Brumfield

Mike leaves behind his wife of 61 years Margaret Janeen Brumfield and their two children.

Son Mike (Deborah) Brumfield and Daughter Michelle (Jackie) Ward.

Six grandchildren, Ashlei (Jordan) Ward, Gracie (RJ) Brumfield, Dalilah (Chris) Coleman, Elizabeth (Nick) Durrett, Michael Ward and Cordelia Hall.

Three Great-Grandchildren Michael Erwin, Bralynn Meek and Belle’ Coleman

Sister-in-law Bonnie Brumfield and her 3 children Marshall, Scott and Mindy Brumfield.

Sister Sandra (Burl) Toler and her 4 sons Greg, Jerry, Terry and Tony Robbins.

Brother-in-law Art (Amy) Shuter and their 2 children Elizabeth and Arthur Shuter.

Mike was born in Latrobe, West Virginia.

Mike spent his childhood in Bruno West Virgina. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1961.

Mike joined The Ohio Air National Guard and was in for 22 years, He was also a Franklin County Sherriff for 32 years and also worked at Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent Technology for 45 years.

Mike belonged to several Organizations

Lithopolis Lodge #169 F&AM, Acbor Grotto, Knights Templer, Kentucky Cornial, Aladdin Temple Shrine, American Legion Post #283, Whitehall Post #8794 VFW, Buckeye Lake Moose Lodge #2434 and Reber Chapter #161 OES.

Mike had a great love for God and his Country.

Mike enjoyed playing golf with his brother, Family and friends, riding motorcycles, sitting by campfires and riding the golf cart around the campground.

He also enjoyed many trips with family and friends all around the United States.

The service for Mike will be Held at Evans Funeral Home in Columbus Ohio on Saturday Aug 22nd, 2026.
