Bethany Ann
Hofmann
Apr 10, 1968 — Dec 23, 2024
Columbus
Bethany Ann Hofmann, 56, of Columbus passed away on December 23, 2024.
Bethany is survived by her two loving children: Jaxon and Madeline Hofmann, father Harold Wayne Herndon, sister Kim (Mike) Kilian, nephew and niece Tanner and Morgan Kilian as well as many other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Sally Bowers Herndon, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Bethany was born April 10, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio, growing up in the small suburb of Bexley where she was known as "Buffy" to family and friends. She graduated from Bexley High School in 1986, then went on to attend The Ohio State University. She completed an associate's degree in computer science from Columbus State Community College in 1995. Bethany moved to Michigan in 1997, raising her young family there and in Wisconsin before moving back to Columbus in 2012. To all who knew her, Bethany was an outgoing, gregarious friend who brought light and laughter to every situation. She had the incredible ability of finding humor even in the darkest of times. Her laughter was infectious. The greatest pride and joy of Beth's life were her kids. She loved attending their sporting events, cooking and baking delicious food for them, and beamed with pride at their accomplishments… most recently their graduations from the school of Engineering at Ohio University. She was silly, loved to have fun, and found great comfort in the company of friends and family. She enjoyed travel and attending sporting events with her family and friends throughout her life, as well. After adopting Buck from the Franklin County Dog Shelter a decade ago, Bethany developed a deep love for dogs and enjoyed being at home with her pups- Buck and Sammy. Beth wore her heart on her sleeve, was an incredibly genuine person, and never met a stranger… seamlessly making friends everywhere she went. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
