Betty Lee (Stepp) Curtis, age 85 of Columbus passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Betty was born on April 25,1938 in Kermit, West Virginia to Isaiah Stepp and Gertrude Jarrell.

Betty's first marriage was to Russell Ward. Betty and Russell went on to have two children, Terry Ward and Susie Horn.

Betty met her late husband John E Curtis in 1978. The two Married September 15,1979 in Clintwood, Virgina. They spent 44 wonderful years together and welcomed and raised four beautiful children Alonzo Horn III, Janice A Wigal, Isaiah Curtis, and Gabriel Wilson.

She and John were great believers in their faith and devoted their lives to their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Betty enjoyed country music, watching General Hospital and Jimmy Swaggart, door dashing with her son Isaiah, family gatherings, bird watching and her dogs and cats. Betty always cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild. Betty and John always had a safe place for all of their children to call home.

Betty was predeceased by her beloved Husband: John E Curtis. Parents: Isaiah Stepp and Gertrude Jarrell. Siblings: Mary Maynard, Charles Stepp, Donnie Stepp, and Barbara Love.

Betty will be deeply missed by her children: Terry Ward, Susie Horn, Alonzo Horn III (Kimberly Hartway-Horn), Janice Wigal, and Isaiah Curtis. Grandchildren: Spencer Ward, Trevor Ward, Whitney Houck (David Houck), Nicholas Ward, Kelly Stafford Jr, (Thea), Tiffany Stafford (Daniel Sparks), Alisha Vance (Sophie), Shawna Fitch (Timothy Fitch), Gabriel Wilson, Paul Wigal IV. Great Grandchildren: Malachi Ward, Maddyn Ward, Willow Ward, Georgia Houck, Tyson Ward, Jameson Ward, Kaisley Ward, Haliegh Horn, Alonzo Horn IV, Alyssa Hartway, La'Rencia Tackett, Gabriella Tackett, Kelly Stafford III, Kingsley Stafford, Unique Wilson, Daniel Sparks Jr, Kaylee Sparks, Madalyn McMillen, Timothy Fitch Jr, Aleeigha Fitch, Noah Fitch, Noah and Nate Yerian, Kėlani Easley, Kaelin Patterson, and Zyere Patterson. Great Great Grandchild: Ethan Eskelson.

Funeral Service will be held at Evans Funeral Home on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10:00 am. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
