Betty Jean New (Carter), 87 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Violet Springs Senior Living, Pickerington Ohio.

Betty was born in Emmitt, West Virginia to the late Herbert and Violet Carter.  She is also preceded in death by her brothers Cecil and Leroy Carter.

Betty was an active member of the Full Gospel Jesus Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her large family.  She loved to fish and enjoyed her annual trips to Myrtle Beach.

Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years; Frank New; children Curtis New (Debbie) daughters Karen Smathers (Ray) and Marsha Humphrey (Joe), 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, March 9, Thursday at Evans Funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 10 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Columbus Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St Jude's Hospital in memory of Betty.
