Betty L. Panthana, age 85, passed away peacefully at Sage Park Memory Care, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's, on September 18, 2025.  She was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Clyde and Sallie Marcum.  Betty graduated from East High School class of 1958 before going to work at The Columbus Board of Education and retiring from The Kroger Company.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Panthana, parents Clyde and Sallie Marcum, brothers Clyde (Sylvia), Eugene (Beverly), Roy (Rene), and Harold (Carol).  Betty is survived by her daughters Sallie Jordan, Terri Panthana, and Mary (Doug) McCullough, grandsons, Kyle and Zach Jordan, and brother Kenneth (Denise) Marcum. Betty was an avid quilter and original member of The Stitching Sisters, a group that supported breast cancer patients at The James Cancer Hospital.  Friends may call Monday, September 22, 2025, 3-5 PM and Tuesday, September 23, 2025, 11 AM- 12 PM Evans Funeral Home 4171 E.
