Carol Kirkes, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2026 at the age of 63.

Carol was the mother of three sons, who were the joy of her life, and an adoring grandmother to one grandson and two granddaughters, each of whom held a very special place in her heart. Nothing brought her more happiness than time spent with her family—whether crafting together, enjoying food, watching movies, playing games or traveling to Disney World.

Carol had a deep love for Ohio State football and could always be counted on to cheer on the Buckeyes. She was creative and talented, enjoying crafting Buckeye necklaces and other fun things to share with others.

A natural caregiver and friend, Carol devoted much of her life to working as an Activities Director for the elderly, offering kindness and patience to the residents of nursing homes. She was also a skilled hairdresser and thoroughly enjoyed doing others hair including her favorite client, her mother.

Carol will be remembered for her generous heart, her quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely to her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and devotion that will live on through those who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Pinney, and her sister, Teresa Pinney. She is survived by her mother, Jane Pinney; her loving husband, Marc; her children, Josh, Jeremy, Justin and his wife, Heidi; cherished grandchildren, Max, Ashlyn, and Abby; her brother, Rick Pinney, and his wife, Amy; her nieces, Natalie Ross and Rachel Pinney; and many extended family members and dear friends who will miss her deeply

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday February 3rd, 2026 at 11AM at the Violet Township Cemetery in Pickerington, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to CurePSP (psp.org).
