Obituary

Charlene Thomas age 61, of Newark, OH, passed away on May 6, 2022, after a battle with kidney disease.  Charlene was born on October 13, 1960, to Charles and Eva Bush in Providence, Rhode Island.  After Rhode Island she landed her first job at Lazarus then ended her career at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio.  She had 6 children, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother.  She attended Living Faith Apostolic Church for several years.  Charlene excelled at being present for her family and friends supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives.  Charlene was a passionate mother who loved all of her children and grandchildren she could be found at The Market Basket holding up the line playing lottery tickets and arguing if they messed up her numbers at the workers and Walmart 7 days a week 3 times a day.  We will miss her greatly.  Charlene is preceded in death by both parents Eva and Charles Bush, sister Perthenia Jones.  She is survived by her sister Althea (Carl) Smith and children Nakiya (Adam) Bush, Marquesha Thomas, Mark Thomas Jr., Matthew (Dawn) Thomas, Charles (Kelsi) Thomas, Evan Thomas; 14 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Evans Funeral Home 4171 E. Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43227.  The Celebration of Life services will be held at 3550 E Deshler Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43227 on Friday, May 13, 2022, 5:00 PM where friends may call 1 hour prior to service. A dinner will be held immediately following the services at Loft 889 889 E. Long St. Columbus, OH 43203.
