Christopher George Neff passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep at his home
Wednesday, March 19th, 2025, at the age of 48. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on August 23rd,
1976. Chris was a bicentennial baby.
Chris was a '94 graduate of Eastmoor High School. He had a career in retail management for
most of his life. Chris loved life. His greatest gifts are his two children, Aaron and MaryJayne. He
was very proud of them both. He was looking forward to attending MaryJayne's upcoming
Graduation this May from The Ohio State University. He loved his family especially his brothers,
nieces and nephews. Chris was an avid Buckeye nut and Blue Jackets fan. He loved all sports.
He looked forward to playing frisbee golf weekly with his friends, weekly game nights, hot
sauce, aliens, movies, reality TV, WWE & AEW wrestling. He loved recommending a good
movie to friends. Chris loved music, especially country and rock. He enjoyed camping and being
outside. He was the grill master. He cooked up a mean pork chop. He always cooked his
specialty dishes for our family get-togethers. We all loved his cheesy potatoes and his sweet
potato casserole. His favorite foods were pizza and wings. He was the treat dealer to his fur
family. He was an avid cannabis enthusiast.
He is preceded in death by his father Clark H Neff and his beloved stepfather Bobby Harris.
Maternal grandparents Eleonore and George Gonzales, paternal grandparents Howard and
Donna Lee Neff and his Uncle Robin Neff.
He is survived by his children Aaron Neff and MaryJayne Neff (Dominic). His mother Melissa Lightle (Tim), Brothers Nathan Neff (Wendy), Joshua Neff (Emily) and bonus brother of 40 years Garry Qualter. Aunts, Mercedes Dean (Joe), Monica Brown (Don), Uncle Mitch Gonzales (Lisa), Uncles Duane, Brian, Tracy and Rod Neff and his aunt Pam Buchanan. Immediate nieces and nephews Paris, Jeremyah, Danniel, Alijah, Avery, Sydney and Anthony. Cousins Shannon Dean, Jeremy Brown (Kristi), Shane Brown, Jordan and Jared Gonzales, Holly Jones (Shawn), Nathan and Kyle Terry. Family cousins Braden, Jaxsen, Carmen, Elizabeth, Madison, Aidan, Keaton, Amelia and many more. His lifelong friends; John Weber, Chad Smith, Travis Burke, Shawn St. Clair, Rob ljams, Randy Clickenger and dear friend Say who passed away last year. Also, special mentions to close family friends Gina and Rob Eckstein, Gretel Lutz, Marita Scheick, Doug and Carla, Amber and Camille Castle.
Chris passed from this life way too early. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved
him.
A visitation with family will be held Saturday March 29th from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Evans
Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow immediately afterward at 1:00 p.m. Chris had
specified his wish for cremation. If anybody has words they would like to speak, you are
welcome to do so. We encourage everyone to come pay their last respects to Chris and to
honor him by wearing your favorite Buckeye shirts. The family would like to thank all who have
reached out. Knowing how loved Chris is, truly means a lot to so many of us.
Dad you were the only constant that we could always rely on and you truly were our hero
standing tall and strong through everything. We love you dad and always will.
