Obituary

Claude Meril Sigman III, age 91 of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024. Survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Nancy (Gorey) Sigman. Children, David (Barbara) Sigman, Deborah (Ken) Lackey, Darwin (Renee) Sigman, Dwayne (Lisa) Sigman. Grandchildren, David (Danielle) Sigman, Danielle (Gary) Freshour, Daisy (Craig) D'Angelo, Melissa (Orry) Zumbiel, Abigail (Benjamin) Matson, Amelia Sigman, Austin (Bri) Sigman, Ian Sigman, Camryn Sigman, and many great grandchildren. Sisters, Donna Webb and Pamela Long; brother Bill (Patty) Sigman; nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

Preceded in death by mother Lenora (Hougland) Sigman Hoover, father Claude M. Sigman Jr.; sisters Jean Griffin, Merlene Martin, Nancy Shaffer; brothers, Gordon Sigman, Leslie Sigman, and Larry Sigman.

Claude was born on May 28, 1933 and lived in Grove City, Ohio one of 10 children. He graduated in 1951 from Grove City High School. He was a retired General Contractor, owner of Claude M. Sigman General Contractor for over 50 years. Claude enlisted in the Navy Reserves in June 1950 and retired as Chief Warrant Officer 3 US Navy Seabees after 43 years of service. Member of Reynoldsburg Lodge #340 F&AM Lodge, Walnut Chapter RAM, Columbus Council R&SM, Mt Vernon Commandery #1 KT, Scottish Rite where he was a member of the choir, and Aladdin Temple Shrine, where he played trombone in the band. He was also a member of the Reynoldsburg Historical Society and Reynoldsburg City Band. Former member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church where he was active with Boy Scout Troop #277.

Claude was a loving and caring husband, dad, grandpa, and friend and will be greatly missed but never forgotten by all. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Nurse Rachel Lobb from Hospice of Ohio. Calling hours Monday, August 26, 2024, 4-7 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where the funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024, 2:00 PM. Pastor Pete Elliott officiating. Internment Glen Rest Cemetery immediately following the service. Flowers and memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692or the Shriners Children's Hospital are welcome. Masonic Services Monday at 6 pm.
