In Loving Memory of Danny Ray Lake (1945–2024)

Danny Ray Lake, born on October 2nd, 1945, left this world on July 4th, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. His passing marks the end of an era, but his legacy will forever resonate in our hearts.

Danny was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anita Lake, who shared with him a lifetime of joy, laughter, and unwavering commitment. He also joined his stepfather and mother, James and Thelma Curnutte, and his sister, Debbie Curnutte, in eternal rest. Their memories intertwine with his, creating a tapestry of love and shared experiences.

Danny leaves behind a family who adored him. His sister, Clara Smith of Zanesville, holds cherished memories of their childhood adventures. His children, Roberta Carter and Harlan Wade Brooks of Columbus, carry forward his spirit, resilience, and love, also his nieces and nephews.  And the generations continue: grandchildren Stephanie and Naja Saqib, Jamie Frazier, Elisabeth Frazier, Amanda and Mark Raymond, Gina Brooks, Heather and Logan Carswell, Louisa Artrip, Ann and Brian Boyer, and Johnathan Brooks. Nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild ensure that Danny's legacy will thrive for years to come.

Danny served his country with honor and distinction. As a specialist 5th class in the Army Reserve, he bravely faced the challenges of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. His sacrifice and dedication exemplified the best of our nation.

After his military service, Danny found purpose in civilian life. He worked diligently at Federal Glass, where he met the love of his life, Ann. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Danny's career also took him to prestigious companies like McDonnell Douglas and Boeing, where his skills and work ethic shone brightly.

Danny's heart belonged to Ann. Together, they explored the country, creating memories. Whether it was a cozy evening at home or an adventurous road trip, Danny cherished every moment with his beloved wife. Bowling alleys and travel destinations alike held a special place in his heart.

And then there was "his chair." That well-worn seat, nestled in the corner of the living room, witnessed countless conversations, laughter, and quiet reflections. Danny's presence filled that space, making it a sanctuary of comfort and connection.
