Darlene Kay Hansel age 64 of Columbus, Ohio was called home to dance with the angels on Monday, April 12, 2021.  Darlene was born on February 8, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio to John and Sarah Hansel.  Darlene gave us the gift of perspective.  Her life was not easy, but she was a fighter each day.  Fighting Cerebral Palsy there were a lot of hard time, for her and for her family.  She taught us that we can see past the difficulties and sing through our problems.  She was also an avid music lover and Christmas Carols were her favorite. She could be seen with her radio "Ju Ju" more times than not. Darlene loved to color and was always proud of her masterpieces.  She loved to play basketball and tell everyone how she beat you. She loved watching professional wrestling on television. If you were lucky enough you got to enjoy how animated she got while watching wrestling.  She was known for her infectious smile, and her child like spirit.  Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, John "Jack" and Sarah Hansel, her brother Joseph and her sister, Patricia. She is survived by her brother Donald (Connie) Hansel and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and great cousins.  Friends may call Friday 3-7 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where service will be held Saturday 10:00 AM. Interment Obetz Cemetery.
