David Owen Pearson was born on November 30, 1939 to Okey Elizabeth and Charles Edgar Pearson in Peru Indiana.  He grew up near Ft. Wayne, IN and Sylvania Ohio.  He joined the Navy and achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class while serving as a navigator bombardier on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific.

He married Marilyn in 1963 and graduated with honors from The Ohio State University in Mathematics and Physics.  He was one of the founding fathers of the US computer science industry and worked with computers all of his life.

He loved to fish and shared many great fish stories with his buddy Fred and brother in law Kenny, loved to hunt with his son Chuck, and was an avid Buckeye all of his life.

Over the course of his life, Dave loved dogs, pairs roller skating, wrestling, flying, surfing, swimming in the lake, playing backgammon, ice skating, skiing, rabbits, panning for gold and a trip to Alaska with David and Jordan, Euchre, and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by Marilyn, his wife of more than 62 years and his children Cheri (Phil), David (Lori) and Chuck (Traci).  He was very proud of his 9 grandchildren, Autumn, Joshua, Jordan, Bethany, Nina, Benjamin, Samantha, Bridget, and Brady and his six great-grandchildren Joziah, Panela, Lazarus, Boaz, Gloria, and Finn. He is preceded in death by his brothers Charles and Scott and his sisters Betty Kay, Alice Ann, and Judy.
