Reverend Diana Marie Morris, age 76, passed away on August 21, 2021, peacefully. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 6, 1945. Soon after graduating high school, Columbus South, in 1962, Diana went to a local college where she received her LPN license.  Soon thereafter she left Ohio and moved to Kansas where she was an LPN. When she returned to Columbus, Diana attended and graduated from Capital University in 1988 with a Bachelor's in Religion. She went on to graduate from Methodist Theological School in Ohio with a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Liturgical Arts.

Rev Diana Morris served as pastor at Alison Christian Church in Alison, PA then First Christian Church in Willoughby, OH.  Diana would often infuse into her sermons her fun sense of humor including once wearing a cat's nose in a presentation.  She retired from that position due to a disability; however, stayed active as pastor with weddings, guest pastor, and funerals. Diana served the church in many capacities when she was able including pastor, choir member, pianist, wrote and acted in plays, managed craft fair, and more. She was an active member of Gender Road Christian Church.

Diana had nicknames such as Annie, Dee Dee, and Diana Marie Monkey Morris.  She had many interests such as spending time with family, cake decoration, baking, movies, painting, writing (published), poetry, acting (Independent Players), and reading about the Royal Family. She dreamed of going to Ireland and liked to research her family's history. Christmas was a particular joyous time for Diana where she tried to share her joy with others.  She shared the real meaning of Christmas as well enjoy the season to its fullest from gift giving, taking nieces & nephews ornament shopping, collecting angels, and going to see concerts like Manheim Steamroller. Diana loved and spoiled her cat, Jazz. Diana had a fun sense of humor and a playful side when you got to know her. She was not shy to share her opinion and as outspoken to say the least.  At the same time, Diana was loving and cared with her whole heart even if the words sometimes got in the way.

Diana is survived by her best friend & sister, Lolita Denton; nephews Shawn (Tammy) Denton, Matthew Denton; Maurice Denton, Mike Denton; nieces Kimberly (Gary) Jones, Kelly (Bud) Pullins, Patricia Garvin, great nephews, Xavier (Mckenna) Denton, Jay (Kam) Denton, Michael (Tina) Denton; great nieces Shelby (Jimmy) Miller, Danielle Denney, April (Charlene) Denton, Chasity Denton, Jennifer Garvin; great great nieces & nephews; many cousins and her other best friend Myra Hayduk.  Diana is preceded in death by her parents Orville and Audrey Morris, brother and wife Richard and Nancy Morris, and brother-in-law Maurice L Denton.

Rev. Diana Morris's memorial with be Saturday, August 28, 2021, at noon with calling hours from 10 am to 12 pm. Services will be held at Gender Road Christian Church, 5336 Gender Rd, Canal Winchester, OH 43110.  EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. will be directing the service. Burial will be a later date.
