Donald Richard McCartney, born April 8, 1924, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at 10:25 p.m. at the age of 100 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Mary, his brother Charles and his daughter, Pamela. Survived by Beulah, his wife of 55 years, His children Mark McCartney, Lisa Clark (Dave), Nicole Curtin (Matthew), Andrea McIntosh, his grandchildren Julie and Heather, Tony and Shawnea, Jamie and Kellie, Alex, Thomas and Liam, Sterling and Natania. Many great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren
Don grew up in Springfield, Ohio. After graduation, in 1942 he was drafted into the Army. While waiting for deployment during WWII he started his education at Kansas State in the field of architecture. After returning home Donald completed his education at Ohio State University. He became a licensed Architect for the State of Ohio in 1953. In 1960 Don built his dream home, taught at CTI, in 1973 he started his firm and worked till he was in his mid 80's.
Don was dedicated as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1950. He had the privilege of working on designing Kingdom Halls, assisted in spiritual projects, and was appointed as an elder to serve the congregation for 52 years.
Don loved being surrounded by his family and friends, working in his garden, cooking, remodeling his home, and worshipped Jehovah with a complete heart.
