Doris Irene Parker age 89, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2026., just 2 days shy of her 90th birthday. She was born October 19, 1936. In Eldred, PA to the late Kenneth McKinley Coast and Freda Mae Whitmer. She was one of seven children born to Freda Coast. She graduated from Otto-Eldred High School in 1955. Her hobbies included: ice skating, softball, playing board games, cards, roller-skating, choir in high school, music, especially southern gospel quartet. She met Rod in the 6th grade and began dating him in the 11th grade. After graduation she married Rod on December 23, 1955. After Rod passed basic training, and communication school he was sent to Germany where Doris followed sailing on the famous Queen Mary. There they had their son John. Doris was not supposed to have any children, but the German Doctors were able to help her with having a son. When possible, she would follow Rod wherever she was allowed to. Rod served in Germany, Midway Island, Japan, Philippines, Wake Island, Hungary, Guam, and Hawaii. She is preceded in death by her husband Rodney S. Parker. Survived by son and daughter-in-law, John and KK Parker; grandchildren Brad Parker, Liza Parker, Laura Parker; great grandchildren Oliver & Sebastian Parker, Brianna, Ramona and Hunter Fleming. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 23, 2026, 11:00 AM Fellowship Baptist Church 4701 Winchester Pike Columbus, Ohio 43232 where friends may call 1 hour prior to service.
