Douglas Anderson, 65, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on August 15, 2023, in Columbus.  He was born on January 4, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Raymond Anderson and Jean Anderson. Doug us survived by his aunt, Rosewitha Anderson, from Columbus, his fiancé, Patricia Rosko, and his brother-in-law, David Fultz. He is also survived by numerous cousins and other family members.

Doug was truly a gentleman and a great friend to all who knew him. He was very loyal and will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.  Despite his limited vision and blood issues, Doug dedicated his life to studying Military History. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and had a passion for collecting military patches and memorabilia.   He also enjoyed watching old World War II movies, as well as older comedies and music from that era.  Doug had a vast collection of items passed down from his father and other relatives, which he cherished.

In terms of his education, Doug attended Columbus City Schools/Marion City Schools for his primary education and later graduated from Marion High School.  He further pursued his education at Columbus Technical Institute now known as Columbus State Community College.

Although Doug was unable to serve in the military due to his eyesight, he had a deep appreciation for military associations.

Professionally, Doug had a diverse career.  He worked at Pipes and Pleasures, the family business owned by Steve and Rosewitha Anderson. He also held positions at St. Ann's mailroom and various other organizations before finding his place at Goodwill on Hudson Avenue. He dedicated his time and efforts to Goodwill, working at the Morse Rd location until his passing.

Doug worshiped at Berlin Community Church on Old State Rd in Lewis Center, Ohio.

In his spare time, Doug indulged in his hobbies, particularly collecting military items, especially those from World War II. He treasured his membership with the NRA and enjoyed spending time at the gun range. He also connected with many friends through social media platforms, particularly Facebook.

A memorial service is planned to celebrate Doug's life on September 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave.  Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held at Goodwill on Morse Rd on September 17, 2023, at 5:00 pm. All friends and family are invited to attend.

Doug's passing leaves avoid in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His memory will be cherished by all who had the pleasurer of knowing him.
