Elsie Irene Van Fossen, of Whitehall, returned to our Lord and Savior on May 2, 2025. She passed away peacefully at The Grove at Oakley Village.

Irene is survived by her son, James E. Van Fossen, her grandchildren, Llyssa, Ayden, Kylie and her brother Donald C. Rowan (wife, Brenda) nieces and nephew, Lori Tyack (children, Chris, Alex, Casey), Tami Chaffee (husband, Bryce, children Ciera, Savannah, Luke, London) and Scott Rowan (wife, Jennifer, son Cameron) and her cousin Walter Dayton.

Irene was born October 25, 1945 to Goldie Gail and Donald Ephraim Rowan in Sweckley, Pennsylvania. She attended Midvale High School (The Blue Devils) and received multiple awards as a Blue Devil Band Majorette. She was married to Ronald Van Fossen (deceased) for 38 years. She retired from Anheuser Busch after 30+ years of service. She was loved and respected by everyone at the Plant.

She was an avid animal lover and adopted several dogs and cats during her life. Irene enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with family.

Immediately family only will attend a gravesite gathering on Tuesday.
