Forest C. "Whitey" Lucas Jr. age 81 passed away Friday, December 29, 2023, Mt. Carmel East Hospital.   Born March 28, 1942, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Forest C, and Ruth I. (Lang) Lucas. Graduate of Linden McKinley High School class of 1960 and Capital University Class of 1995.  Veteran US Army. He worked for many years at Ohio Bell and AT&T holding numerous positions and retiring in 1995.  Endowed 30-year member and Past Master of Sunrise Lodge # 783 F&AM. Member of Grove City Chapter # 502 OES for 22 years, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus. He was an avid golfer and loved to draw; gifted many family and friends with his drawings. Preceded in death by parents, son, Jon F. Lucas, brothers, Paul Lucas and Phillip L. Lucas, sister, Sharon A. Drennan. Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Cheryl A. Lucas; daughter, Dorene (Jeffrey) Smathers; son, Mark A. (Brenda) Lucas; grandchildren, Leah Marie Lucas, Aaron Michael Lucas, Joshua W. (Lauren) Lucas, Alyshia (Billy) Schooley, James F. (Marissa) Lucas, Jon David "JD" (Kristen Fields) Lucas, Ashley Lucas: 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; sister-in-law, Jean Lucas; brother-in-law, Greg (Christine) Boles.
