Fred G. Fishinger passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 2nd, 2024. He was born on July 20th, 1928, in Columbus, OH. He met his first wife, Ruby while working at a theater in downtown Columbus while she worked as a waitress in a nearby restaurant. They married on January 1st, 1948, and were married for over 50 years before she passed in January 2001. Fred and Ruby welcomed their only child, Carolyn, on September 2nd, 1950. They then moved to Whitehall in 1952 where Fred continued to reside until 2015. He was lifelong member of Norton Church of Christ / Eastpointe Christian Church where he served in various roles within the church. He met his 2nd wife, Martha, while attending Eastpointe Christian Church and were married in April 2008. They were married for over 11 years until she passed in December 2019.
He had odd jobs while growing up before working at Timken Company in their railroad division where he retired after 38 years.
He had a quiet and gentle spirit and was the epitome of a Godly husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Gladys Fishinger, sisters Winnie, Joann and Nancy, brother Bill (Goldie) Fishinger, wife, Ruby Fishinger, daughter, Carolyn Bice, son-in-law, Robert Bice, wife, Martha Fishinger. Survived by granddaughters April (Edward) Miller, Karen (Terrance) Jackson, great-grandchildren, Brian (Nikki) Miller, Jason Miller and Faith Miller, nephews Jeff (Lisa) Snyder, Jim (Belinda) Snyder, and niece Julie Snyder. Stepdaughters, Marci (Tom) Savage and Dani (Steve) Frazee. Several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, May 7th from 4pm - 7pm at Evans Funeral Home. Service to be held Wednesday, May 8th, 11am at Eastpointe Christian Church with internment following at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Hilliard.
