Fred Lee Kirk age 89, passed into glory with His Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10, 2021.  He was born April 18, 1932 to Ethel May Miller and William M. Kirk.  Fred served as a radioman in the US Navy on the USS Shenandoah from April 1950 – December 1953.  He retired from Rockwell International after 35 years as Manager of Materials.  He went on to MacDonald Douglas where he worked five more years.  Fred never wanted to retire so he volunteered 10+ years on the Custodial Team at Fellowship Baptist Church.  During those volunteer years he also spent time helping two daughters-in-law homeschool 6 grandchildren.  As a member of FBC he taught the Word of God and mentored many over the years.  He is survived by two sisters Bessie Showalter and Mildred Madden, his loving wife of 50 years Janice R. Kirk, children Larry L. (Rena) Kirk, Linda M. Crooks, Pam S. Coles, Michael F. (Kim) Kirk and Richard E. (Tamara L.) Smith; 13 grandchildren and over 40 great and great great grandchildren, and prayer partner Dominic Cominiti.  Preceded in death by 5 brothers, 1 sister and son David W. Smith.  Family and friends may pay their respects at viewing on Thursday, May 13 from 5-8 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church 4401 Winchester Pike, Columbus OH 43232.  There will be one hour of visitation on Friday, May 14 from 10-11 AM. Pastor Tony Luizzo will be officiating at funeral at 11:00 AM.  Immediately following the celebration of Fred's life, the interment and military graveside service will be at Glen Rest Memorial Estates, 8029 E.
