Sergeant First Class George M. Lutz "Tutu Man", died peacefully in his sleep on Friday January 31, 2025, at the age of 83. George was born in Linton, Indiana on October 20, 1941, to Frank and Geneva Lutz. George joined the Army in October of 1958 and retired in January of 1979. He served in many areas of the Army to include Rifleman, MP, Correctional Specialist, Training NCO, Criminal Investigator, Platoon Sergeant and Special Agent. Once he retired from the Army he worked for the State of Ohio as a Criminal Investigator from January of 1979 to July of 1982. He then worked for the Defense Logistics Agency as a Criminal Investigator from July of 1982 and retired in June of 2002.
George was a proud Vietnam Veteran who loved history, telling stories, watching MASH, All John Wayne movies, FoxNEWS, The Ohio State Buckeyes and softball.
He is survived by his 5 children: Hattie (Scott Embernate) of Hilo, Hawaii, George Lutz (Donna Buckler) of Obetz, Ohio, Paul Lutz (Delilah Beck Pennington) of Hopehull, AL, Dawn (Randy Gockenbach) of Groveport Ohio, Kim (Jason Barth) of Dacula, Georgia, Linda Lutz(Daughter-in-law), Leisa Lutz(Daughter-in-law): 7 grandchildren Mechelle (Todd), Jason (Cassie), Sean, Cheyenne (Austin), Sara, Tyler, Faith; 6 great grandchildren Lilly, Keaton, Lacey, Layton, Savannah, Judson; sister Ruth Ann, many nieces and nephews and his many "calabash grandchildren". Preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Leatrice "Tutu Lady" Lutz, grandson Beau Lutz, father Frank Lutz, mother Geneva Lutz Jones, sister Marie and brother Clayton.
Friends and family may call Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 1-3PM & 5-7PM and the Funeral service on Friday February 7, 2025, at 12:00PM Evans Funeral Home 4171 E. Livingston Ave. Entombment Franklin Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite veteran's charity in honor of George M. Lutz.
