Gracie Jewell Foster (nee Hall), 93, passed away at her home on October 24, 2023, with her daughter at her side.  Born March 14, 1930, in Morehead, KY. Gracie, married her sweetheart, George, in 1952.  They were together in life 63 years and are now together in splendor.

Gracie grew up in a large family, one of eleven children, and the church was central to their lives. The house was full of music and Gracie loved to sing throughout her life.  She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir; in fact, she sang all the time.  It was both joyful and healing.  Gracie's faith in God saw her through all of life's trials, including the passing of her husband, George, in 2015.

Gracie is survived by her daughters, DiAnn (Greg), and Pamela (Steve) and her son, Bryan (Dottie).  Gracie loved all children, but especially her grands Grisha, Maya, Nick, Amanda, Ariell, Aurora, Zach, William and Bryan and great-grands, Toma and Arianna.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who remember her fondly as a fun-loving aunt who also made the best pies in the world!

Gracie loved to laugh as much as she liked to shop.  She seemed to have boundless energy and was always involved in something for her community.  She worked at a variety of jobs prior to becoming a mother and returned to the work force when her children became school age.  Even after retirement, Gracie worked part-time at a floral shop so she could continue to create beauty.  She was a wonderful seamstress and was creative in every part of her life.

She also loved to be active and walked miles outdoors every day into her 90's.  Following a stroke, she went to live with her daughter, Di, where she received excellent care from Angie and Velvet.  While her physical abilities were compromised, Gracie continued to greet others with a ready smile and gratitude.  She remained an avid reader until her death, reading multiple books every week.

Gracie was preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta, Christine, and Retha, and brothers Gene, Calvin, Don, and Phil, and is survived by her sisters Oleta, Judy and Kay.  She also had loving relationships with her surviving sisters-in-law, Nancy and KayAnn.

Graveside service and interment, Friday, October 27, 2023 3:45 PM Asbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church Youth Program or to your favorite children's charity.
