Helen Sickmeier, age 97, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the Ashford on Broad in Whitehall, Ohio. She was born on August 4, 1925, in Gallia County, Ohio.  She was preceded in death by parents Ida and Earl Clark, infant sister Dorothy, husband William Sickmeier, son Doug and his wife Danielle Sickmeier and grandson-in-law, Brandon Theiss.  Survived by children Randy (Ermajean) Sickmeier, Patti (Butch) Martin, Tom (Ginny) Sickmeier.  Grandchildren Jared Thomas, Janel Theiss, Janae (Chris) Bryant, Joel Sickmeier, Meghan Sickmeier, Parker Sickmeier, Kelly (Clayton) Mariotti, Casey (Molly) Martin, Craig (Nichole) Sickmeier, Kevin Sickmeier and fiancé Marisa Lutz. Ten great grandchildren and a number of beloved extended family members.

Helen and her parents lived in Bexley, Ohio where she attended grammar and high school. In 1946, she and her girlfriend traveled to Southern California, celebrating her 21 ^st birthday along the way. She got a secretarial job at the War Assets Administration during WWII, where she met her future husband, Bill. They were married on June 14, 1947, at the Little Chapel of the West in Las Vegas.  Soon after, they moved back to Columbus, Ohio to start their family.

Helen was a loving mother and homemaker.  All her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren have very fond memories of growing up in a very loving and supportive family.  Helen loved to travel and visited many places across the globe with Bill, including Europe and the Caribbean. She loved getting together with her family during the holidays and whenever possible.  Helen's favorite things included playing bingo, going bowling, playing card games, especially Crazy 8's and, of course, winning big on the slots. She loved her home in Whitehall, Ohio and took great pride in maintaining her yard, her koi pond and beautiful landscaping. Her dogs Maggie and Chelsi kept her company throughout the years.

Helen will be remembered for her love of her family, having fun whenever possible and her positive outlook on life.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023,11:30 AM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where friends may call 1 hour prior to service.  Interment Jackson Township Cemetery.
