Our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, James (Jim) Scott Saneda, received his eternal reward on January 12, 2022, at age 70 after a hard-fought battle against COVID-19 at OSU James Hospital.  Jim was surrounded by his wife, sons, and brother as he left this world for his Heavenly home.  No doubt he heard the words "Well done my good and faithful servant."  Jim was the youngest of eight children born in Bryan, Ohio to Frank Sr. and Virginia Saneda. Jim secured his heavenly home 40 years ago when he gave his life to Jesus Christ.  He exemplified Christianity in his walk of faith and his daily walk through life.  Jim's love and devotion to his family was what he lived for.  He loved unconditionally and cherished all family and friend time.  He perfected the art of making everyone feel special and loved.  He lit up a room with his smile and laughter and made an impact on the lives of everyone who came in contact with him.  Jim cheated death eight years ago when he received the gift of life from a family friend who became Jim's adopted son, Chase Ridgway, via a living donor liver transplant.  Our family will forever be grateful for these additional years with Jim.  Jim retired after 13 years from DeVry University where he served as a Senior Admissions Representative.  He was adored by his students and co-workers there. He earned the prestigious PRIDE Award several years which is the University's highest award for recruiting excellence. His career also consisted of positions with Swetman's Pipeline, Search and Rescue Team of Bryan, Ohio, Ohio Farmer, United Methodist Children's Home and several financial institutions and title companies.  Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Bluffton University.  He earned a football scholarship there for all four years.  He was inducted into the Bluffton University Athletics Hall of Fame for the 1972 team who won the Conference Championship and broke school records that still stand today.  At Bryan High School, Jim was a tri-captain of the football team and the Catcher for the baseball team.  His football team won the League Championship his Junior and Senior years under his leadership.  As a Senior, he earned the prestigious John Saneda Memorial Award.  It was a trophy presented to a Bryan High School athlete who exemplified desire and determination in football throughout his varsity career. Jim had continued the family tradition of presenting this trophy every year in honor of his brother, John Saneda, who was an exemplary person and football player and who lost his life in the Vietnam War. Jim was a member of World Harvest Church for 37 years, where he served as an usher for decades and as a Royal Rangers Commander teaching boys how to be Christian leaders.  He loved coaching his own boys' sports teams through the church's Family Life program and continued to be a faithful volunteer with the chains for the Harvest Preparatory School football team at every home game. He was also honored to serve as a Deacon and a Lay Leader at World Harvest Church through the years.  Jim always had to have something to keep himself busy and did not know how to just stop and rest.  In the last few years, he enjoyed managing the rehabbing of houses, which fulfilled his need to stay active and busy.  Jim will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 39 years, Teresa (Terri) Saneda.  He also leaves behind his two sons who will miss him terribly, Joshua Saneda and Jonathan Saneda; grandchildren Harper and Brody Saneda, who affectionately called him "Papi"; brothers, Frank Saneda, Jr., Walter (Mary) Saneda, Robert (Bonnie) Saneda; mother-in-law Wanda Buckland, many nieces, nephews, adoptive son Chase Ridgway, best friend Jeff Ridgway and many close friends. Jim has been preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Virginia Saneda; his only sister, Virginia Saneda Crow; and his brothers, Jerry Saneda, Roy Saneda, and John Saneda.  Friends may call Friday, January 21, 2022, 5-7 PM and Saturday, January 22, 2022, 10-11 AM World Harvest Church, 4595 Gender Road, Canal Winchester, Ohio where funeral service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
