Jamie Michael Pack age 44, of Columbus, Ohio passed away on July 27, 2023, in the comfort of his home surrounded by the love of his wife, mother and two daughters. Jamie was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer three years ago. Through the pain and countless complications Jamie suffered, he never lost his sense of humor and always had hope. Throughout his fight, he cracked jokes with his nurses, family, and friends. Jamie possessed a great ability to make others smile and an undying need to make others laugh in any situation.

Jamie held many titles in his life, from soldier to correctional officer, but above all else his most cherished title was being a devoted husband and father. He never missed a chance to express his appreciation for his family. Jamie trained to become a firefighter while in his high school years but ultimately enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation.  Jamie was an honorable veteran of the Iraqi Freedom War. He often reminisced on his time spent in Germany and the friends he made there. The army brotherhood meant a lot to him. Jamie always thanked every veteran and active-duty soldier he came across for their service.

After his military discharge Jamie worked briefly at the GAP warehouse with his mother before settling in as a correctional officer at Pickaway Correctional Institution where he retired after 15 years due to his medical concerns. He considered his longtime fellow PCI officers to be his family.

Jamie enjoyed a few hobbies including drawing, putting together model vehicles and horseback riding. Jamie's love of fire engines, helicopters, and tanks was apparent to anyone who spent any time with him. You could always find Jamie doodling something and he was very good at drawing. He was a natural with horses and communicating with them. Jamie loved spending time at Arrow Riding Stables.

While Jamie left us far too soon, the impact he made on anyone's life that he touched will carry on with them. He will always be remembered as the most selfless person who gave constantly without any thought of return. If you needed him, he was there no questions asked.

Jamie is survived by his mother Mary, wife Judy, and two daughters Abigail and Charlotte. He is also survived by his sisters Kelly and Katie along with his nephews Jeffrey, Dawnte, and Brandon, niece Brentney, great nephews and several aunts. He cared a lot about all of his in-laws that he is survived by and considered them family as well. Jamie was preceded in death by his daughter Paisley and his grandparents.

Jamie's family will host a memorial service on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 6:00 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where friends may call from 4:00 – 6:00 PM.
