Janet Lee Herring, 96 years old, passed away May 1, 2023, in her sleep following a brief illness at Wesley Ridge Retirement Center.  She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio.  She is survived by her children Michael (Bailey) Herring & Patty (Julie) Herring.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John G. Herring and numerous family & friends.

She was an active member of Brookwood Presbyterian Church for 50 years.   She held a variety of occupations throughout her life, which included working in the Manhattan Project at Oakridge, TN, being a head buyer at Hudson's in Detroit, MI and Atena in Columbus, OH.  She was a loving mother and wife and will be truly missed by all. Calling hours to be held Monday May 8, 2023,12:30-1:30 pm, followed by a service at EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, Ohio.
