Obituary

Jeanne Armbruster Kessler passed away on February 10, 2024, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Jeanne was born on November 28,1946, in Cambridge, Ohio, to Joseph and Lola (Patterson) Armbruster. She was the eldest of seven siblings, two of whom—Richard and Jack—preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Gary Kessler, in 1982, and her partner, Louis Bartlett, in 2014.

She is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Floyd, her son, Michael Kessler, and grandchildren Olivia Kessler, Bronwen Kessler, Grant Kessler, Iris Kessler, and Julia Floyd, a great-granddaughter, as well as her siblings, Mary Pat (Robert) Bates, James Armbruster, Joseph Armbruster, and Kathy (Jack) Douglass, and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanne grew up in Cambridge, Ohio, where in 1964 she met Gary Kessler. They married in 1965 and ultimately moved to Gahanna, Ohio, to raise their children. After Gary's death in 1982, Jeanne balanced raising two children while rejoining the workforce, going back to school, becoming employed with Borden, and eventually retiring from 7-Up/Dr. Pepper.

Jeanne spent much of her later life with her partner Lou Bartlett, traveling to the Outer Banks and Las Vegas, camping, and spending time at veterans' organizations with their friends.

Her most recent year was spent living with her son and granddaughters, in a house full of life and laughter, constantly filled with family dinners, family gatherings, and holidays with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, all of which she enjoyed immensely.
