Joan Short (nee Gockenbach) age 99 passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, Canal Winchester Rehabilitation. Preceded in death by husband, Harold (owned H&J Office Suppy), parents Howard and Mary Gockenbach, son Billy. Survived by “Your Kids” JoEllen, Howard and Layla Hahn; friends Nancy Palsgrove, Barb Partlow; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Gender Road Christian Church, where she was Elder Emeritus and a member of the choir, kitchen chairperson, Past President and past Treasurer of CWM. She was a graduate of South High School class of 1944. Graduate of Mt. Carmel School of Nursing class of 1948. She was President of Jeanetts Honey Bear Shrine Class, Past President of Women’s Golf League at Blacklick Golf Course. She was presented with the Living Faith Award on May 16, 2023 by Spiritualty Network. Funeral service Thursday, September 24, 2026, 11:00 AM Gender Road Christian Church 5336 Gender Rd where friends may call 2 hours prior to service. Pastor John Romig officiating.
