Joyce Marie Sherwood, 88, formerly of Deposit, NY, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born July 15, 1934, to John and May Booth.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis (Lew) Sherwood, son Steven Sherwood and sister Norma Mitsakos. She is survived by her daughter Jovita (Don) Bailey, son Joseph (Vanessa) Burke, daughter Donna (Leonard) Chapman, son Ken (Barb) Sherwood, daughter Bev (Donna) Sherwood, son Gary (Deb) Sherwood, son Jim (Sandy) Sherwood, stepson David Strange, 20 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Joyce was an avid reader, quilt maker, loved gardening and could solve any crossword puzzle. During her early years Joyce and Lew were active participants of the Deposit Booster Club. They loved going camping at Echo Lake with their family. They hosted many family gatherings. Each Easter they would have the family over for a ham dinner and a candy hunt that is carried on by granddaughter Denise (Jay) Lang. During her final days in the hospital, doctors and nurses gained much respect for Joyce as they listened to the stories being told at her bedside. They clearly saw the love and admiration everyone had for her.
