Judith G. "Judy" Fitzgerald, 72, of Columbus, OH passed away December 1, 2021, at Mount Carmel East Hospital. Judy was born in Marietta, OH on June 16, 1949 (along with her twin sister, Janet) to Margaret "Peggy" and Gerald Fitzgerald. She began her education with the St. Mary's Schools and graduated from Marietta High School in 1967. Judy continued to receive her Licensed Practical Nursing degree and was first employed at Harmar Place in Marietta. After moving to Columbus Judy worked at Riverside Hospital and Grant Medical Center where she retired after 30 years of dedicated and caring service. Judy was truly a kindhearted person, always looking out for others. It was not unlike Judy to visit area nursing homes to lift the spirits of the residents with her smile and listening ear. Judy shall be remembered by her family for her loving spirit, laughter and infamous "Judy bags". Judy was genuinely thoughtful to all! Judy is survived by her sisters, Theresa Fitzgerald (Janet Chase) and Margaret Neuhart, all of Marietta; her brothers, Gary (Debbie) Fitzgerald of Marietta and Michael Fitzgerald of Roanoke, VA; niece, Ashley Bonnette; nephews Maxwell Fitzgerald and Matthew (Jessie Mossack) all of Marietta, Jason Fitzgerald of Delaware; great niece, Emma Bonnette, and numerous cousins. Preceding Judy in death are her parents; twin sister, Janet Fitzgerald and brother-in-law, Larry Neuhart. Visitation will be December 10, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon at the Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus. The funeral mass will December 10, 2021, at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4383 E. Broad St., Columbus beginning at 12 noon. Entombment will at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
