Obituary

Karen closed her eyes in death on February 1, 2022, with loved ones surrounding her.  Karen had a strong faith in God, and we know we will see her again! Karen graduated high school and then became a Licensed Cosmetologist; she even did hair for the Jerry Lewis Telethon. In her late years, she became a Caregiver for the mentally challenged. Her heart was one full of love, she never met a stranger. Karen sparkled and shined wherever she would go!  Karen is survived by her mother, Leola McKee, husband, Oscar (Manuel Hernandez) Castro, daughter, Candy (Scott) Chenoweth, grandchildren Issac, Ciara, and McKenzie Boals; siblings Danny (Tishia) Place, Susan Owens, Melodie Thomas, Clinton McKee Jr., Susan (Pete) Stuller, Martha (Jeff) Kern, Kathy (Dustin) Crawford, Glenda (Roger) Painter, Susan (Joe) Kopchak, Bert (Marsha) McKee, Melanie McKee, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Preceded in death by her father William Arick, stepfather, Clinton McKee Sr., brothers, Ronald Arick, Stephen Arick, and Robert Place.  Funeral service Wednesday, February 9, 2022, 1:00 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of service. Pastor Jeff Beisel officiating. Interment Jefferson Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to her husband would be greatly appreciated.
