Katherine Ann
Munyon
Feb 6, 1960 — Jan 9, 2024
Pickerington
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Katherine (Kathy) Ann Munyon (Wooten), at the age of 63, on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024. She was greeted in Heaven by two of her favorite people, her mother, Jo Ann Wooten, and sister, Linda Wood, making for a joyous reunion.
Born on February 6, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio, at St. Anne's Hospital, Kathy was the first child of William (Bill) and Jo Ann Wooten. Kathy grew up in Columbus, Ohio, with her 4 younger siblings. She later moved to Pickerington, where she raised her son, Justin. Justin was the light of Kathy's life; she was the best and most supportive mother one could ever ask for.
While raising Justin, Kathy worked at Discover Card for 39 years. Here, she made lifelong friends and was well known amongst the company for making others laugh with her witty humor and "no nonsense" personality. Her coworkers also knew Kathy to be caring and supportive in their personal and professional lives.
Kathy enjoyed online shopping, talking to loved ones on the phone, and cooking. She was known as being the chef in the family. No family get together was complete without her famous mashed potatoes and pasta salad.
Not only was Kathy a mother to Justin but was also a mother-like figure to her nieces and nephews. Many of her nieces and nephews considered Kathy their "second mom". Kathy took great pride in being a mother and being this mother-like figure. Kathy's joy and happiness came from making those she cared for happy. She was known for making those around her feel loved, supported, and protected. She was the best advice giver and listening ear. The lessons, advice, and wisdom Kathy shared will continue to live on. She will always be with us.
Kathy's loving, supportive, sassy, "tell it like it is" personality will be missed immensely. Kathy is survived by her son: Justin Munyon, father: William E. Wooten, aunt: Betty Jo Miller, brothers: William "Eddie" Wooten Jr., Kenneth Wooten (Lisa), and John Wooten, brother in law: Brent Wood, nephews: Joseph Wooten (Jordan), Zavier Wood, Zane Wooten, and Bryair Wood, nieces: Jordan Fox (Josh), Lexie Wood (Matt), Jessa Wooten (Daniel), Brezina Wooten, Panda Wooten, and Brailyn Wood, great nephews: Jaden Fox, Jace Fox, Jonah Wooten, Jude Fox, Jaqen Wooten, and Jensen Wooten, and great nieces: Jackson Fox, Jaryn Fox, Jayla Wooten, Jori Fox, Jorja Wooten, Josie Wooten, and more on the way. Kathy is preceded in death by her mother: Jo Ann Wooten, sister: Linda Wood, grandparents: Opal and Paul Noel, along with other loving family members.
