Larry Paul Eal, a beloved family member and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, at his lifelong home in Columbus, Ohio. Larry is preceded in death by sister Valerie Sue, father Paul and mother Orleta. He is survived by his sister Vickie Bennett, two nephews, Paul (Ashley) Thompson and Jason Thompson, six great nieces and nephews, and numerous other family and friends.
Larry's life was marked by a rich tapestry of interests and achievements. He attended Christ the King School from 1967 to 1975, where he showcased his talent on the basketball court. In 1979, he graduated from Bishop Hartley High School, where he continued to excel as a letterman in basketball.
Beyond his athletic pursuits, Larry was a devoted member of Christ The King Church. His unwavering faith in Christ was evident in his daily Bible readings and prayers.
Larry's passions extended beyond sports and religion. He was an avid fisherman, skilled in crafting his own fishing lures. He also possessed a remarkable talent for playing the guitar, even beginning his musical journey with the accordion. Additionally, he enjoyed swimming and was a member of the Berwick Beach Swim Club and Swim Team.
Larry was known for his kindness, compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for others. He was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, and if he couldn't assist someone directly, he diligently sought out someone who could.
Larry's journey has now come to an end, and he finds eternal peace in the embrace of God. He is no longer burdened by pain, but rather resides in a place of comfort and joy, where he can freely worship and be with his loved ones.
In honor of Larry's life and legacy, a funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Evans Funeral Home, located at 4171 East Livingston Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43227. Calling hours will commence at 11:00 am, followed by the service at noon. The interment will take place at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, located at 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, Ohio 43137, immediately after the service.
