Lynn Ann Ochsendorf, former Mayor of Whitehall, passed away on November 2, 2021, in Dayton as a result of long-term illness. Born March 13, 1955, to Eugene and Ann (née DeLucia) Ochsendorf in Steubenville, Ohio, Lynn moved to Whitehall in 1963 and graduated from Whitehall-Yearling (Class of 1972). After high school, Lynn studied at Appalachian State University and earned her Bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. Lynn served as the Mayor of Whitehall from 2004 to 2008. Prior to her term as Mayor, she was Treasurer of Whitehall City Council from 1992-1993 and President of the City Council from 1996 to 2003. For many years, she founded and operated Lynn Ochsendorf Promotions, a specialty advertising agency in Whitehall. Lynn was an active Member of the Whitehall VFW Memorial Post 8794 and the Kiwanis Club of Eastern Columbus & Whitehall. She was preceded in death by her husband Al Martin in 2014. She is survived by brothers, Robert Ochsendorf of Columbus and Gene Ochsendorf of Elkins, WV. Lynn will be fondly remembered for her enduring commitment to public service, her love for the Whitehall community and neighbors, and her infectious laugh. She was very proud of her service to the City of Whitehall, and she always encouraged others to find ways to serve in the community. Following a family graveside memorial service, visiting hours will be held at Whitehall VFW Memorial Post 8794, 4100 East Main Street, at 1PM on Thursday, November 11. The family requests donations in her memory to Whitehall VFW Post 8794.
