Marie A. Currens, age 82 of Fremont, MI passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on August 13, 2023, after battling progressive dementia for several years. Marie recently was moved to Michigan to live with her niece Patty in her home, where she was fed like a queen and spoiled by all. She was surrounded by her loved ones as she was peacefully taken home to be with Jesus.

She is survived by her daughter Charlene (Paul) Willette; grandchildren Robert (Melissa) Willette and Paul (Heather) Willette Jr., Nichole Willette, Crystal (Scott) Coffey; great grandchildren Kyra Coffey, Connor (Paige) Coffey, Micheal, Ashley, Shawn, Sara and Natalie Willette. Marie graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1958 where she participated in Art club, Y-Teens and The Roarettes. Shortly after graduating she would marry Clarence and then welcome Charlene. Marie retired from Western Electric to then devote her life to her family.

Marie poured herself into her family and always welcomed a crowd into her home. From the grandkids and their friends to The Wilks' family that would stay for weeks at a time in the summers. The home was always filled with laughter and controlled chaos and generally music played in the back room. No one ever went hungry visiting as Marie always made sure to make or order dinner and always offer her famous ham sandwiches.
