Marjorie Eloise (Francis) Ketner, age 97, passed away Saturday, November 23rd at Alderwood of Friendship Village of Dublin.

Marjorie was born in Whisler, Ohio, near Circleville. She was extremely proud of her Circleville roots, spending many years attending the Circleville Pumpkin Show, Memorial Day Parades, High School Reunions, and many other events. She was a 1946 graduate of Circleville High School and attended art school upon graduation. After graduation, Marjorie worked for banking institutions and law offices in Circleville. In 1957, prompted by an invitation from her landlord, she attended a Circleville United Methodist church. The minister was Rev. Frederick Ketner. And the rest, as they say, is history. She devoted her life to her husband and his service, their two daughters, her grandchildren, her fur grandchildren, and her countless (literally hundreds) family members and friends.

Marjorie was small in stature but big in personality and heart. She can be described as generous, kind, accepting, and forgiving. She was a true believer in giving the benefit of the doubt and of second chances. She can also be described as feisty, determined, and persistent in her passions and beliefs. Above all, she was a woman with a true love of God and her family.

Friends and staff at her residence at Friendship Village of Dublin will miss her perky walk, straw hat, friendly and vibrant smile, and especially her friendship.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Rev. Frederick Mitchel Ketner. Marjorie was the last surviving sibling of eight children born to Clarence Francis and Carrie Viola (Arledge) Francis. Preceded in death by siblings Edrie (Bob) Baird, Mildred (Howard) Richardson, Glenn Francis, Raymond (Luella) Francis, Ralph Francis, Richard (Deanie) Francis, and Marilyn (Don) Meenach. Survived by two daughters; son-in-law; granddaughter; grandson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Marjorie will be buried holding a white Bible and red and white roses, representing her wedding bouquet in 1958. She is resting now with the love of her life, Fred, in God's hands in heaven where her spunky spirit will be looking over us all.

Friends may call Monday, December 2, 2024, 5-7 PM EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. where funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 1:00 PM. Interment Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 11:00 AM Kirkersville Cemetery.
