Mark Alan
Mcpeek
Apr 4, 1963 — Jun 7, 2021
Columbus
Mark Alan McPeek, 58, passed away unexpectedly in the early morning of June, 7, 2021, at his home in Columbus, OH. Mark was born on April 4, 1963 in Bethlehem, PA and moved to Reynoldsburg, OH as a teenager. He graduated from Reynoldsburg High School and Eastland Vocational School in 1982. Mark is survived by his wife, Paula Higgins, his parents, Barry (Gayle) McPeek, and Judy (Michael) Kutch, mother-in-law, Helen Higgins, siblings Sherry Laury, Holly (Sam) Barks, Sean (Nicole) McPeek, Heather (Alex) Hanselmann, uncles Brian (Gail) McPeek, Richard McPeek and Ron (Joan) McPeek, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is pre-deceased by both paternal and maternal grandparents Frank and Hazel McPeek, Warren and Florence Achey, and uncle Ronald (Tess) Achey. Mark and his wife Paula shared 32 years together and, although they faced some health and financial challenges along the way, their love and devotion to one another never wavered. Their greatest joy was simply being together and it was a true case of "until death do us part". Anyone who knew Mark quickly learned that in addition to his wife, his other great loves were his cats, music, and CARS. Yes, cars. Lots and lots of cars. Mark inherited an encyclopedic knowledge of vintage hot rods from his dad and would talk about them all day if you let him. He also loved all things rock and roll – especially roots, rockabilly, and punk rock - and never tired of his favorite songs. He had a huge heart for animals and adopted numerous cats during his life. All of them were his "babies" – especially his deceased "best friend" and constant companion Desi - and nothing was too good for them. No doubt right now Mark is in heaven, in a hopped-up '49 Mercury, wearing his favorite leather jacket and blasting the radio with his beloved pal Desi at his side. That would truly be paradise for him. A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 on Tuesday, June 15, at EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave. in Columbus, with visitation beforehand from 11:00 – 1:00. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Memorial Gardens at 8029 E. Main St. in Reynoldsburg In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mark's favorite animal rescue, Our Farm Sanctuary. They can be mailed to 6495 Agenbroad Rd, Tipp City, OH 45371 or sent directly via PayPal or Venmo to OurFarmSanctuary@gmail.com .
