Mark Allen Rogue, born on May 24, 1960, in Columbus, Ohio; Graduate of Walnut Ridge High School, Class of 1978 passed away peacefully at his residence in Lancaster, Ohio on August 1, 2026. Mark lived a life defined by commitment to his family, resilience, and unwavering integrity. Over the course of sixty-six years, he built a legacy remembered for his character and the deep impact he had on all who knew him. Mark was the cherished son of the late Lois M. Rogue (Smith) and the late Kenneth O. Rogue whom is survived by wife Barbara Rogue McGarvey (Pat). Raised in a close-knit family, he carried the values of loyalty and compassion instilled by his parents throughout his life. Mark shared a strong bond with his siblings—survived by his sister, Sabrina J. Rogue, and brothers Dwayne Tapia and Andrew Mullins. He was preceded in death by his brother Glen Tapia.As a devoted father, Mark is survived by his son, Norman D. "Dale" (Jamy K) Hicks III, and his daughter, Nicole M. (Shea "Mooch") Rogue McFarland. His nurturing spirit extended naturally into his role as a grandfather, regarded lovingly by Payton M. Hicks, Jonah S. Ullum, Kodi J. Rogue (Maura), Koewynn J. Rogue and Lilianna M. Hicks. Mark cherished these relationships deeply, and his family consistently remained at the center of his life. His connection to family extended to his nieces and nephews—Shelby B. Schwartzwalder, Daniel C. Miesse, Andrea Hayes, Jessica Tapia, Dwayne 2nd (D2), Amy Geirhart, Christina Geirhart, and Jessica Labastida —each of whom held a special place in his heart along with 19 great nieces and nephews.Mark’s lineage also honored several family members who preceded him in death, including his grandparents Bill and Alta Smith (Lois), and Mary C. and John O. Rogue (Kenneth). Their lives influenced his own, and he often spoke with reverence of the generations that came before him. Special thanks to the nurses and aides with Heartland Hospice, especially Ashley and Addie with gratitude for their exemptional kindness and care.

A lifelong mechanic with a passion for anything that moved, Mark could bring life back to cars, boats, motorcycles, and just about any motor vehicle that crossed his path. He loved the freedom of the open water and the thrill of the open road.

Mark had a tight-knit crew of friends he rode motorcross with, fished with, tubed with, and shared many cold beers with — Guinness always being a favorite. His love for animals was just as strong. Every canine companion held a special place in his heart, Whiskey, his loyal friend for the last 17 years, remained faithfully by his side.

One of Mark’s greatest joys was the race car track he first built with his father, Ken. Over the years, he expanded the collection with his son and daughter, creating a tradition that spanned generations. He loved tinkering with RC cars, trucks, and boats — including one he and his father built together, with Ken crafting the woodwork and Mark painting it with pride.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Mark’s love, kindness, and strength will live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know him. He taught us the value of hard work, loyalty, lending a helping hand, and cherishing the simple moments spent together. Whether turning a wrench in the garage, casting a fishing line, grilling for family, or sharing stories around a card table, Mark made every moment count.

His memory will forever be carried in the laughter of his grandchildren, the traditions he created, and the countless lives he touched through his generosity and unwavering devotion to those he loved. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to guide and inspire us.

Rest easy, Dad. Your work here is done, your race has been run, and your love will remain with us always. Until we meet again, may the roads be smooth, the fish be biting, the engines roar, and may you find peace reunited with those who have gone before you—including the faithful companions who never left your side.
