Mary Lois Hanes, age 68, of Whitehall, was called home to the Lord on Monday January 17th, 2022. Mary was born to the late Harold and Janice Baisden on April 12, 1953. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Richard Hanes, her daughter Amy, her brother Richard, and sisters Patricia, Donna, and Gwendolyn. Survived by brothers Gary, David, and her children Michelle (Bobby), Deby (Matt), Richard (Correna), Cheri (Malcolm), 19 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren who made up her entire world.

Mary was born in Logan, West Virginia, the 3rd of 7 children and she never forgot her roots. She raised her children with her strong love and southern values and lived selflessly for her family. Mary was the strongest woman any of us have ever known. Her ability to overcome and persevere were untouchable. Her beautiful smile and laugh will never be forgotten. We are all blessed to have called her mom, mammaw, sister, and friend.

Whenever you speak of her, speak not with tears, for thoughts of her should not be sad. Let memories of the times you shared give you comfort, for her life was rich because of you.

Viewing will be held at Evans Funeral Home at 4171 E Livingston Ave on Friday January 28th at 12pm with service at 1pm. Procession immediately following to Forest Lawn Cemetery.
