Mary Anne Kasinecz (nee Litzinger) passed away on February 14, 2022. She was 89 years old. Mary Anne was born in Somerset, Perry County, OH, in 1932. She loved music and was a soloist in both the church choir at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity school choir. Mary Anne was active in 4-H, appeared in school theatrical productions, and was her senior class president. After graduation in 1950, Mary Anne moved to Columbus to attend college at Saint Mary of the Springs. She also studied voice at Capital University. As a young woman she was involved in a Columbus theatre group the Independent Players. She briefly worked for the U.S. Postal Service before starting a position with Battelle Research Institute. She met her future husband, US Air Force Staff Sergeant George Kasinecz (formerly of Minersville, PA), at the NCO Club on Lockbourne AFB, where she was performing on-stage, singing "Blue Moon." Mary Anne and George married in 1955 and moved to Williamsport, PA, before returning to Columbus, OH, settling in Whitehall, and becoming original parishioners at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Mary Anne was involved in many activities including PTA, Happy Spirits, Holy Spirit Choir, and the Whitehall Senior Center. Mary Anne was a professional quality seamstress. Her passions were her family, singing, reading, and cooking. She enjoyed traveling and the performing arts, especially musical theatre. Mary Anne is preceded in death by her parents Austin and Anna (Crowe) Litzinger and her youngest brother Henry Martin "Sam" Litzinger. She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 66 years, George Kasinecz; children Mary Ellen (Fred) Young, Nancy (Mark) Foltz, John (Irene) Kasinecz, Carol (Greg) Brooks, Paula Hall, and Michael (Maureen) Kasinecz; siblings Richard (Sue) Litzinger, Charles Litzinger, Helen Wiseman, Jane Litzinger, and Sue (Norman) Litzinger-Whitton; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Grateful appreciation to Grecy, Lynne, and Katy from Mount Carmel Hospice and Autumn, Nicole, and Yadi from Cherry Blossom Senior Living for their gentle compassionate care. Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Mary Anne at EVANS FUNERAL HOME, 4171 E. Livingston Ave, Columbus, on Friday, February 18, 4-7 p.m. funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4383 E. Broad St, Whitehall, Saturday, February 19, 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Pataskala, OH.
