Mary Philomena Aluise Malloy, age 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on August 14th, 2026. Mary was born July 6th, 1928 in Huntington, W. Va. Mary attended St. Joseph Grade and High School where she enjoyed being a cheerleader. She graduated high school in 1946. After graduation, she was employed by The Greater Huntington Theatre Corp, the Keith Albee, Orpheum, Tipton and State Theaters. She completed courses at Comptometer School and was hired by Sylvania Electric in the Accounting Department. Mary moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1967 where she resided for 27 years. She was employed by Buckeye Federal Savings and Loan and retired from BancOhio in 1992. Mary moved back to Huntington in 1994. Her love and devotion for her grandchildren compelled her to move to Boise, Idaho in 1999 to be close to them. In 2021, Mary returned to Ohio and resided at the Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living where she was known as the “little feisty Italian lady”. She was beloved and well-cared for by the staff. Her daughters would like Mary to be remembered as a strong woman who passed on strong values, a strong sense of family, and the Aluise sense of humor. Her Italian cooking was greatly enjoyed by family and friends, and there was always a place at the table for others. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Agazio and Teresa and her siblings, Antonio, Joseph, Bruno, Melina, Samuel, Jim, Frank, Albert and Wilbert. She is survived by her daughters Toni (Brian) of Rocky Hill, CT, Kammy of Pasadena, CA, and Teresa (Diane) of Columbus. She is also survived by her grandchildren David (Kelly) of Wethersfield, CT, Megan of West Haven, CT, John (Mary) of Sand Lake, NY and Maureen (Jim) of Eagle, ID, and her great-children Carter, Felicity and Katherine. A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Huntington, WV at a future date.
