Merlyn Anita Arnold, 79, died of natural causes on September 29 ^th , 2022, at her home with Hospice in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on January 15 ^th , 1943, in Radcliffe, Ohio to Lawrence and Gertrude (Williams) Strausbaugh. She graduated from Wilkesville, Ohio High School, then graduated from the University of Rio Grande in 1966 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. She was a Special Education teacher in the Columbus City School system for over 30 years.

During college she met and then married her college sweetheart, Glenn E. Arnold Jr. of Tell City, IN, in 1963. Most recently celebrating 59 years of marriage on June 22 ^nd . Merlyn was church organist at Christ United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio for 17 years; a dedicated servant to Christ.

Merlyn & Glenn had two sons, Craig, (Shauna) 53, and Joel (Serena) 50, Arnold. Merlyn is survived by her husband Glenn, sons Craig and Joel,  grandchildren Trevor 27, Noah 24, twins Luke & Abigael 17, Ashton 2, brother Paul (Sandy) Strausbaugh of Newark, OH, Annabelle (Dean) Tripp of Paragould, AK, Elaine (Robert, diseased) Horr and son Christopher Horr of Plain City, OH and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral viewing will be held on Monday, October 3rd, 2022, 4:00-7:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E Livingston Ave, Columbus, OH 43227. A service of remembrance will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 4 ^th , 11:00 AM at Christ United Methodist Church, 1480 Zettler Rd, Columbus, OH 43227. Presided over by Rev. John Edgar and Rev. Craig S. Arnold. A graveside service will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester, Ohio. A private family reception to follow.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be given in Merlyn's name to the central Ohio multiple sclerosis society.
