Mica Nastev Lourgos, age 69, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024, at her home in Westerville, surrounded by her loving children.

She was born on January 12, 1955, in Macedonia to Vasil and Cveta Nastev. Mica immigrated to the United States as a young child and spent her early years in Ohio before later moving to Los Angeles, California, where she met her beloved husband, Chris Lourgos.

Mica was a devoted mother and successful entrepreneur, known for her infectious enthusiasm that could light up any room with her laughter and smile. She eventually returned to Ohio to raise her children closer to family, although she always retained her adventurous spirit and would never turn down an opportunity to explore the world through travel and new experiences.

Her life will forever be cherished by her children: Aleksandra (Matthew) Ustaszewski, Nick Lourgos, and Eleni (Douglas) Verbic; her grandchildren: Theodore and Sophia. Mica is survived by her mother, Cveta Nastev, her sister, Fanche Nastev, and nephew Nathan Sheeran as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Mica was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Lourgos, her father, Vasil Nastev, and nephew Brendan Sheeran.

Mica's love was unparalleled – she embodied the virtues of courage, gentleness, patience, and kindness, as described in 1 Corinthians 13. She served her family with grace, strength, humility, and humor, and her children were her pride and joy. Her home was always filled with delicious meals, Macedonian music, and a warm welcome. Mica was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her baklava, brownies, and beautifully crafted cakes, and she took great satisfaction in using her talents to bring happiness to family and friends.

Her incredible, caring personality endeared her to everyone she met, as she always prioritized the needs of others above her own. Mica faced life's challenges with remarkable resilience and unwavering commitment, leaving a profound impact as a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a deep-abiding faith and devotion to God, which guided her through every aspect of her life.

She will be dearly missed by her children, who Mica instilled with her values by being the perfect mother to each of them. Mica's life was a testament to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A funeral service to celebrate Mica's life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024. The calling hour will begin at 12:30pm, followed by a service at 1:30pm at St. Mary Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral, 400 S Waggoner Rd., with Rev. Radovan Cekovski officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
