Michael J. Butler passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the age of 72 in Columbia, SC from diabetic complications.  Mike was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Russell and Louise Butler and preceded in death by his sister Merrily Cunningham.  Survived by wife of 50 years, Patricia "Pat" Butler, brother Richard "Dick" (Marie) Butler, and sister Katherine "Kit" (Steve) Gordon. He leaves behind his sons Sean Butler and Erik (Laura) Butler, daughters Danielle (Joseph) Craig, and Denise (Joshua) Sanders.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren and one on the way. Virginia "Caroline" Craig, Molly Craig, Brody Butler, Russell "R.J." Butler, Jace Butler, Jackson Sanders, and Evelyn Sanders.  Mike attended Bexley High School graduating class of 1970.  He was a member of the Bexley Lions Club. He loved the BHS reunions and Bexley 4th of July Celebrations. He loved cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He had an impeccable sense of humor.  He will be missed immensely by those who knew and loved him.  A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023, at EVANS FUNERAL HOME 4171 E. Livingston Ave. Family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
